I woke up a little early and intended to go back to sleep, but I thought I should plug in the new computer before the battery died completely. It immediately turned itself on and wanted it's OS set up so I could use it. So, I started playing with that instead of going back for the rest of the sleep I needed.
It turns out that the set-up sequence seems to be easier than I thought it would be. Well, as far as I've gotten with it, anyway. The Windows XP set up tells you what to do at each step to set up the software. The problem is the hardware. It keeps telling me I need to turn the wifi on, but there's no information on how to do that.
I finally got frustrated and went in the bathroom, and wound up with someone pounding on the bathroom door. They were supposed to come around last week to measure the countertops for replacement later this Fall. Naturally, they managed to do it while I was in the bathroom and couldn't hear them knock on the door. So, they let themselves in and knocked on the bathroom door.
So, now it's late afternoon, I haven't gotten all the sleep I wanted last night, the computer still isn't set up, and I need to get out to the library and the grocery store.
The good news is that there's a new Warehouse 13 on tonight!

There's probably a switch or button on the edge of the computer to turn on the wifi, mine is on the front right next to the latch.
